Last year’s Christmas, I wanted to make a somewhat exotic champagne-topped martini and I had bought all the ingredients: Passoa, passion fruits, vanilla syrup… all of which not part of my regular shopping list, but it was Christmas after all. Sadly, I ended up forgetting the most obvious ingredient, which is the champagne (more precisely, a decent crémant / sekt which I believe does equally well in a mixed drink without plundering your wallet). – So I had to improvise and this recipe is the outcome.

Ingredients (per cocktail):
- 1.5 shots orange juice
- 0.5 shots lime juice
- 0.5 shots Aperol
- 1 shot vodka
- 2 barspoons of grenadine
- Dash of Angostura
- Decoration: 1 thin slice of orange
Preparation:
- Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker over crushed ice.
- Shake well, strain into martini glasses.
- Decorate with the orange slice
